Why would that slow down your adoption? There are a lot of very cool things in both .NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010 worth adopting straight away. Since development shops already using VS2008 will hav the option to upgrade to VS2010 when it's released, everyone should be able to get what they need. Perhaps we can have a separate conversation off-line to talk about your group there, and what we can do to help you guys get VS2010 when it's released. Perhaps BizSpark, or WebsiteSpark is also a possibility for your group. Send me some mail at chris.koenig@microsoft.com and let's start chatting about this...

Cheers!
Chris

I would be surprised if Microsoft isn't giving away any free copies to everyone, even though I understand it. I can only speak for my group here, it will slow down our adaption of .NET4 and WPF.

I do not believe that Microsoft is giving away free copies of Visual Studio to everyone, but last I heard they were planning to raffle off a couple of copies at each event. I don't know what the final plan is yet, but it won't include a free copy of VS for everyone...

Sorry!
/Chris
